  • Center for Language Study
    The Center for Language Study provides leadership and support for pedagogical innovation, professional development, and implementation of new methodologies in language instruction and learning.

  • Council on East Asian Studies
    CEAS provides a forum for academic exploration and support related to the study of China, Japan, and Korea.  It promotes education about East Asia both in the college curricula and through lectures and workshops, conferences, cultural events, and educational activities open to faculty, students, and the general public.  The Council also manages the East Asian Studies undergraduate major and the East Asian Studies M.A. program.

  • East Asia Library
    The East Asia Library is one of the major collections of East Asian materials in the United States, its primary goal in recent years being to support research and teaching in East Asian studies at Yale.

  • Film Study Center
    The Yale University Film Study Center is committed to the preservation of, and access to, resources for the scholarly study and appreciation of cinema.  Activities include managing a continually expanding collection of films in most celluloid, video and digital formats.  Its collection currently contains over 2100 films from East Asia.

  • Richard U. Light Fellowship
    The Richard U. Light Foundation began funding the Richard U. Light Fellowship at Yale in 1996.  Since then, the Light Fellowship has exerted a signature impact on Yale’s efforts to internationalize its campus culture by giving more than 700 Yale students fully-funded opportunities to pursue intensive language study in East Asia.

  • Office of Fellowship Programs
    The Office of Fellowship Programs advises students and alumni of Yale College about fellowships, scholarships, and grants.  These awards range from full to partial funding and can support summer research, publics service, independent projects and post-graduate study, in the US and abroad.

  • Yale-China Association
    For more than a century, the Yale-China Association has promoted understanding between Chinese and American people through programs in the arts, education, health, and public service.  The Yale-China Association is a private, non-profit organization based on the campus of Yale University.

  • Yale University Art Gallery
    The Yale University Art Gallery’s world-renowned permanent collection includes over 185,000 works. organized into ten curatorial areas.  Its Asian collection houses approximately 6,000 objects from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Near East.
