Nina received her BA and MA in Japanese Studies from Moscow State University. As an undergraduate student she spent a year at Tokai University in Kanagawa, Japan. After graduating, she taught Japanese language and literature at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow campus), where she also served as the Head of the Japanese section of the School of Asian Studies. The research that Nina is pursuing at EALL is primarily in the field of medieval Japanese poetry and poetics (waka and karon). She is also interested in literatures and cultures of Western and Eastern Europe, and linguistics.
