Rosa Vieira de Almeida

Rosa Vieira de Almeida was born in Portugal, and grew up mostly in Macau, China. She received an MA and an MSc from the University of Edinburgh, and came to Yale in 2009 to pursue PhD studies in modern and contemporary Chinese literature. She plans to work on diaspora literature and look at issues of memory, language, creolization, transnationality and (post)colonialism. Apart from her graduate work, Rosa is an avid amateur photographer and enjoys spending time with her sewing machine and her computer.
