Stephen Owen (‘68, Ph.D ‘72) has been awarded the prestigious Tang Prize for lifetime contributions to Sinology

Good news! Stephen Owen (‘68, Ph.D ‘72) has been awarded the prestigious Tang Prize for lifetime contributions to Sinology. He shares the prize with the Japanese scholar Yoshinobu Shiba 斯波義信.

The Tang Prize offers USD$ 1.34 million as well as a research grant of USD$0.33 million. It’s practical value is higher than that of Nobel Prize!
