David is a first-year Ph.D. student in East Asian Languages & Literatures and Film & Media Studies. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, he spent five years in Hokkaido, Japan on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program as an assistant language teacher. Returning to the U.S. he worked as the Film Coordinator for the Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C.
