Ting Li Quek

Ting Li received her B.A. from Peking University, China, where she majored in Chinese Language and Literature. She then went on to Cambridge to do an MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (premodern China). Now during a gap year, she is spending half a year studying Japanese at a language centre in Tokyo before she arrives to New Haven. Ting Li is interested in the history, thought and literature of early China, particularly the period including and before the Han dynasty. She is also interested in the comparative studies between early China and ancient Rome. Ting Li will be working on the construction and purpose of ancient economic rhetoric during her Ph.D. journey.
